Job summary

Northeastern Supply, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Agent for a full-time, home-office role based in Golden Ring, MD. You will research, evaluate, and purchase products to meet price, service, and quality goals across all branch locations.

You will manage purchase orders, inventory, supplier relations, and ERP reporting to support fill rates and inventory turns. The position offers an annual pay range of $53,000 to $80,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of buying experience preferred.
• Familiar with modern purchasing methods, procedures, and specifications.
• Working knowledge of Excel and the ability to work with various business software.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience partnering with vendors and suppliers.
• Problem-solving expertise.
• General knowledge of market demand fluctuations, seasonality, and government regulations.
• Able to resolve discrepancies independently.

Responsibilities

• Purchase Order Management: Research, evaluate, and purchase products based on price, service, and quality that meet the needs of the organization.
• Inventory & Stock Management: Maintain inventory records and purchasing control parameters; manage inventory in all branches to meet fill rate and turnover goals.
• Supplier & Vendor Relations: Maintain cooperative relationships with suppliers and assist in negotiating contracts.
• Planning, Reporting & Systems: Provide purchasing planning and control information; coordinate ERP maintenance and reporting.
• Standards & Accountability: Follow Employee Handbook rules and perform other duties as assigned.
