Mac Papers + Packaging in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Buying Group Manager to lead a team of buyers and optimize inventory purchasing processes. You will collaborate with the Director of Supply Chain Analytics to balance stock availability with carrying costs while driving cost-effective procurement strategies.

The role requires a bachelor's in business or Supply Chain, 8+ years in procurement, and strong leadership, negotiation, and ERP experience (Infor, SAP, Epicor).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (master's degree preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management with increasing responsibility.
• Minimum 2+ years supervising buyers or purchasing staff.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience in wholesale distribution preferred; paper, packaging, or janitorial/sanitation products a plus.
• Proven track record of strategic procurement and inventory management.
• Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
• Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills (Pivot tables, VLookups, etc.).
• Experience with ERP and inventory replenishment systems (Infor, SAP, Epicor, or similar).
• Must be able to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing Performance: Oversee daily buying, forecast-based PO placement, and improve fill rates and inventory turns.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing purchasing team with development opportunities.
• Strategic Supplier Management: Negotiate lead times, order quantities, pricing, and terms; implement vendor metrics.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Align inventory strategies with business objectives across departments.
• Cost Control: Lead cost-saving initiatives and manage procurement expenses for profitability.
• Contract Management: Manage procurement contracts and mitigate risks.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards across purchasing.
