Job summary

Builders Source Inc. (BSI) is seeking a Senior Manager, Purchasing & Inventory Controls to lead purchasing, inventory management and accuracy, returns, vendor recovery, and inventory-control processes across our appliance business in Albuquerque, NM.

You’ll serve as the control tower from purchase through final disposition, establishing standards and leading the team. This role partners with Sales, Operations, and Finance to protect working capital and customer commitments, while driving

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing, inventory management, or related function.
• 3+ years of people or functional leadership experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, business administration, finance, or related field.
• Experience in multi-location distribution, retail, appliances, or inventory-intensive environment preferred.
• Experience with cycle counts, inventory adjustments, variance/root-cause analysis, returns disposition, vendor credits, RA recovery, aged inventory and controls reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing and inventory controls with clear standards and accountability.
• Oversee the purchasing lifecycle including PO execution and vendor follow-up.
• Own inventory accuracy: cycle counts, adjustments, and variance analysis.
• Lead returns and disposition controls with proper authorization and vendor credits.
• Drive vendor recovery and aging/obsolete inventory management.
• Develop KPIs for inventory accuracy, aging, and recovery.
• Coach and develop the Purchasing, Inventory Control, Returns/Vendor Recovery teams.
