Job summary

Nelson Global Products, Inc. is seeking a Director of Purchasing for the North America Engine Group to lead strategic sourcing for engine-related commodities across Indiana plants.

You will drive sourcing projects, supplier development, negotiations, and contract management while coordinating global supply base activities with cross-functional teams. The role requires 5+ years in supply chain within metal mechanics, with preferable advanced degrees and APICS certification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant Supply Chain experience in metal mechanic manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree preferred.
• APICS certification is preferable.
• Experience in metal mechanic manufacturing is preferable.
• Experience in Automotive industry is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualizes and develops sourcing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Leads the Engine Business Unit in sourcing project execution.
• Tracks BI information for supplier decisions.
• Coordinates commodity roadmaps for supply base rationalization and growth.
• Manages SKU work with global purchasing, operations, sales and engineering.
• Oversees interdepartmental resources for sourcing projects.
• Leads negotiations with North America suppliers.
• Manages new supplier additions.
• Oversees regional supplier base metrics and priorities.
• Oversee Supplier Relationship Management for service, on-time delivery, and quality.
