Job summary

Mercury Print Productions is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our Rochester, NY team. You will manage procurements, create purchase orders, monitor inventory, and negotiate pricing with print vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow policies while supporting cost-saving initiatives. Full-time hours, on-site at Rochester Tech Park.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience in printing, packaging, or manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational and negotiation skills; proficient with MS tools.
• Legal to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, update, and track purchase orders accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast needs and fulfill purchasing requirements.
• Source and negotiate pricing with print vendors to keep production on budget.
• Verify item descriptions, quantities, specs, pricing, delivery dates, and vendor information.
• Manage routine paper purchasing for the Toner Department based on production schedules.
• Resolve shortages, delays, quality issues, and identify suitable alternatives when stock is unavailable.
• Evaluate total landed cost including price, freight, surcharges, tariffs, and shipping costs.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and pursue cost-saving opportunities.
• Follow company policies and complete training as required.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.
