Job summary

The City of Ormond Beach is seeking a strategic Public Works Director to oversee municipal infrastructure, multi‑department operations and high‑performing teams. You will report to the City Manager and guide water, wastewater, streets, fleet, and solid waste functions with autonomy and fiscal discipline.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in a related field, 7–10 years in public works and 3–5 years in senior management, plus a Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Public Administration, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible municipal public works experience.
• 3–5 years in a senior management position.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, administration and performance of the Public Works Department.
• Manage Water, Wastewater, Reclaimed Water, Solid Waste, Stormwater, Streets and Fleet Maintenance.
• Provide autonomous leadership, strategic vision and fiscal responsibility.
