Job summary

City of Ormond Beach is seeking a strategic Public Works Director to lead operations across Water, Wastewater, Reclaimed Water, Solid Waste, Stormwater, Streets and Fleet Maintenance. You will report to the City Manager and guide a senior leadership team toward reliable, customer-focused public service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
• Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible municipal public works experience.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a senior management position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, administration, and overall performance of the Public Works Department (Water, Wastewater Collections, Reclaimed Water, Solid Waste, Stormwater, Streets, and Fleet Maintenance).
• Direct reports include the Fleet Operations Manager, Utilities Manager, Operations Manager, Utilities Engineering, Waste Contract Manager, and an Office Manager.
• Engage staff, elected officials, and the public with excellent communication; balance innovation with fiscal responsibility; guide high-profile projects.
