Job summary

The position is exempt, bargaining unit, with a typical Monday–Friday schedule and a competitive benefits package. A CPPB certification within two years is encouraged, along with a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to procurement.
• Three years of public procurement experience as buyer or purchasing agent.
• Ability to obtain CPPB certification within two years of appointment.
• Equivalent combination of education, training or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Interpret laws, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance.
• Review requisitions for completeness and determine procurement methods.
• Develop bid specifications and issue RFPs/RFBs; evaluate bids.
• Establish and monitor contracts; renewals and terminations as needed.
• Coordinate with Finance for funding and with Receiving for delivery.
