Job summary

Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) seeks a Chief Financial Officer to serve as the agency's senior financial executive under the direction of the Executive Director and Board. You will lead financial operations, guide policy and program decisions, and provide strategic oversight of budgets, grants, contracts, and reporting.

As CFO, you will ensure strong internal controls, coordinate audits, and advise leadership on financial implications of major decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or related field required.
• Master's degree or public finance credential preferred (CPA/CGFM/CPFO).
• Eight+ years of progressively responsible governmental/nonprofit/public-sector financial management experience with budgeting, reporting, grants management and audits.

Responsibilities

• Leads development, administration, and forecasting of agency budgets and long-term financial planning.
• Oversees financial management of grants, reimbursements, reporting, and subrecipient monitoring.
• Maintains internal controls for accounting, procurement, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting.
• Prepares and presents financial reports and analyses for leadership and boards.
• Coordinates annual audits and liaises with external auditors.
• Develops and monitors fiscal policies and procedures aligned with strategic priorities.
• Collaborates with department heads to align accounting and budgeting with program delivery.
