The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 7+ years of government budgeting experience, and supervisory experience. CPA or GFO preferred; SC driver’s license required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible budget/financial experience in local or state government.
  • 3+ years supervising 5+ employees within last 15 years.
  • CPA or GFO preferred; GASB/GAS principles knowledge required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as acting Director during periods of absence.
  • Assist Budget Director with development and monitoring of operating budgets and long-term financial plans.
  • Perform salary modeling and projections; revenue projections; capital project planning.
  • Create and review budget reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Supervise Budget Analysts and coordinate training/leave for staff.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; respond to inquiries.
