Job summary

Union County, NC is seeking a Budget Management Analyst to develop and analyze county-wide budgets, maintaining financial records and preparing reports. You will evaluate spending, prepare budget requests, and support the annual budget process for a $430 million budget.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a finance-related field and at least two years of budgeting or accounting experience; a Master's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and two years of budgeting or accounting experience; or equivalent.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced qualifications.
• Knowledge of financial systems and statistical analysis tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares work papers for audits and budget amendments; handles budget postings and transfers.
• Reconciles interdepartmental charges and projects year-end revenues and expenditures.
• Assists in annual budget process for a $430 million budget; serves as primary contact for budget analysis.
