Job summary

Mercer is seeking a Senior Proposal Specialist to join the Strategic Bid Center in a hybrid role, requiring three days in the office and a base within one of our US locations. You will manage the end-to-end RFP/bid/tender response process, craft persuasive content and executive summaries, and coordinate with consultants, sales professionals and designers to win major opportunities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in business, journalism, marketing, English, communication or public relations.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, sales or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
• Strong writing, editing and project management skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Attention to detail with a big-picture view.
• Comfort with ambiguity and change.
• Ability to work collaboratively and accept feedback.

Responsibilities

• Writes persuasive proposal content and executive summaries tailored to readers.
• Reviews RFPs to ensure complete understanding of submission requirements.
• Identifies strategic opportunities within proposals to add client value.
• Shapes opportunity strategy with client managers and consulting teams.
• Delegates or performs research as needed.
• Coordinates with internal contacts for information and materials.
• Collaborates with design to craft visuals and storytelling.
• Manages proposal development for both small and large projects.
