Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a Strategic Projects Portfolio Project Manager to lead distribution projects, manage budgets, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across Georgia. The role requires evaluating project scope, schedules, and environmental considerations, with travel up to 25% for meetings and collaboration.

You will direct task planning, resource needs, and risk management while aligning with capital investment initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; BS in Science/Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of Distribution, Transmission or project management experience.
• Experience presenting projects at the DPRT, TPRT and T&D committees is preferred.
• Experience with large industrial and commercial projects and related design work is strongly preferred.
• Proven commitment to Safety Excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and quality standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate design, engineering, procurement, land acquisition, and construction for multiple distribution projects aligned with distribution capital investment initiatives.
• Support deconflicting process across SPP and the distribution capital portfolio.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders including Distribution Management, Regions, T&D, Planning, and Capital Governance teams; escalate issues affecting cost, schedule, or public impact.
• Monitor project costs and forecasts, manage scope changes, and obtain required approvals prior to construction.
• Support emergency restoration efforts, including work outside normal business hours as required.
