Job description

Scale's Generative AI business unit is currently experiencing historic growth. As a Strategic Projects Lead (SPL), you will lead initiatives that are expected to generate over $XXM+ in new revenue. This demanding role requires a versatile approach across all operational aspects. The ideal SPL should possess a strong entrepreneurial mindset, be detail-oriented, and eager to engage in impactful work that accelerates career growth.


You will:


  • Own our most visible and impactful customer pipelines, making decisions that influence data quality, operational efficiency, revenue, and margins.
  • Understand customer needs and design data taxonomy to enhance model performance accordingly.
  • Develop pipeline infrastructure to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Train, coach, and manage dynamic, global teams.
  • Create analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Operations, and Go-to-Market to advance the development of the world's largest LLMs.
  • Regularly update Scale's executive team on progress.

Ideally, you should have:

  • A strong technical background, with a degree in engineering or computer science preferred, and the ability to perform data analytics using SQL or Python.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading teams, developing products or operational processes, or as a Software Engineer.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in operational challenges, with a knack for creative solutions to complex issues.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, eager to build from scratch, identify issues, and execute swiftly.

Compensation packages at Scale include base salary, equity, and benefits. The displayed salary range reflects the minimum and maximum targets based on location and other factors, including skills, experience, and education. Equity-based compensation is also provided, subject to approval. During the hiring process, your recruiter can share specific salary details and clarify equity eligibility. Benefits include health, dental, vision coverage, retirement plans, a learning stipend, and generous PTO, with additional benefits like commuter stipends potentially available.

Location-specific salary ranges are as follows: $140,000$175,000 USD for San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.

Note: We require a 90-day waiting period before reconsidering candidates for the same role, ensuring a fair evaluation process.
