Job description

Scale's Generative AI business unit is currently experiencing historic growth. As a Strategic Projects Lead (SPL), you will spearhead initiatives that are projected to generate over $XXM+ in new revenue. This demanding role requires versatility across all operational dimensions. The ideal SPL should possess a strong entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with detailed work, and enthusiasm for impactful tasks that promote rapid career growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Owning our most visible and impactful customer pipelines, making decisions that influence data quality, operational efficiency, revenue, and margins.
• Understanding customer requirements and designing data taxonomy to enhance model performance based on client needs.
• Building pipeline infrastructure to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Training, coaching, and managing dynamic, global teams.
• Developing analytics for data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborating with stakeholders from Engineering, Product, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams to advance the largest LLMs globally.
• Providing regular updates on progress to Scale's executive team.

Preferred qualifications:

• A technical background, ideally with a degree in engineering or computer science; at minimum, proficiency in data analytics using SQL or Python.
• Over 5 years of experience in product development, operational processes, or software engineering.
• At least 2 years of team leadership experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills, especially in operational challenges, with the ability to devise creative solutions for complex problems.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, excited about building from scratch and executing quickly.

Compensation packages include base salary, equity, and benefits. The salary range for this role in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle is $168,000—$210,000 USD, depending on location and experience. Additional benefits include health coverage, retirement plans, stipends, PTO, and possibly other perks like commuter stipends. Specific salary details will be shared during the hiring process.
