Job summary

The City of Leander seeks a proactive leader to oversee a broad portfolio of strategic projects for the City Manager’s Office, Mayor, and City Council. You will coordinate initiatives, engage with key stakeholders, and ensure alignment with city priorities.

Under supervision with initiative, you will exercise independent judgement while collaborating with city departments to drive results for Leander residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required (Public/Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or Public Policy).
• At least 4 years of experience managing projects/initiatives for local, state, or federal entities.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent from any U.S. state.
• Preferred: 3+ years in local government and Master’s degree in related field.

• Interact regularly with City Council and key stakeholders to advance city priorities.

Job description

Works under the supervision of the Assistant City Manager, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. This position will lead and coordinate a wide range of strategic projects and initiatives for the City Manager’s Office, Mayor, and City Council, and works with key stakeholders on a regular basis. This position performs a broad range of duties in support of the City Administration and includes regular interaction with members of the City Council.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university in Public or Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Public Policy, or a related field.
Four years or more of experience managing projects and initiatives for a local, state, or federal entity.

Required Certificates and Licenses

Valid Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent from any U.S. State.

Preferred Qualifications

Three years or more of experience working for a local government in a similar role.
Experience working directly with City Administration and City Council.
Master’s degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university in Public or Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Public Policy, or a related field.
