Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a Project Manager for the Rogel Cancer Center to lead center-wide projects and support clinical research initiatives.

The role involves charters, schedules, risk logs, and cross-functional coordination with departments like Research Administration, IT, Finance, HR, Communications, and Clinical Research. This is a full-time hybrid position with admin support duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: bachelor's degree in business, public health, health administration, or science, or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of project or program management experience.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, monitor and complete projects with charters, schedules, risk logs, and status reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including reporting to senior leaders.
  • Experience coordinating people from different teams without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational skills and discretion with confidential information.
  • Experience with calendar management, meeting logistics, and minutes (about 20% of the role).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking tools.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Rogel Cancer Center's central point of contact for project management.
  • Help leaders scope, plan, and launch projects; maintain a center-wide inventory.
  • Support intake, prioritization, and sequencing to align with strategic priorities.
  • Develop charters, scopes, schedules, RACI matrices, and risk/issue logs.
  • Track action items and report progress, risks, decisions, and milestones.
  • Coordinate work across Research Administration, IT, Finance, HR, and other teams.
  • Manage consultants and vendors; support CCSG reporting and board prep.
  • Close out projects with summaries and lessons learned; build PM practice.
