Job summary

The Division of General Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School seeks a Project Lead to join the CanSORT Research Management Team. The role offers a flexible hybrid schedule with remote work and essential on-site meetings at the North Campus Research Complex.

The candidate will prepare grants, coordinate research activities, and advance patient-centered cancer research in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Senior-level qualification: Master’s in Public Health or related field with 5–7 years in academic research.
• Intermediate-level qualification: Bachelor’s in Public Health or related field with 3–5 years in academic research.

Responsibilities

• Manage large and complex research projects for multiple investigators
• Schedule, attend, and take notes at research team meetings
• Assign tasks to team members and supervise progress; formulate methods and identify issues
• Grant development and project management: funding acquisition, timeline preparation, data use agreements, RPPRs
• Handle IRB activities: prepare human subject applications, protocols, amendments, continuing reviews
• Coordinate human research studies including recruitment, consent, retention, data collection
• Clinical trial registration and recordkeeping per policy
• Track participants and maintain detailed study records
• Collaborate with CanSORT statistical team on data quality control, cleaning
• Assist with poster/slides and manuscript preparation/dissemination
• Communicate with CanSORT team and external collaborators
• As needed: update CanSORT website; manage temporary staff; plan events; co-present with PI; author publications
