Job summary

Pennylane is seeking a strategic thinker to own cross-functional initiatives from concept to shipped outcomes. You’ll work directly with the VP Strategic Initiatives and ExCo to tackle high-stakes projects in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Fluency in French and English is valued, with a bias to action and the ability to operate in ambiguity. This role offers broad exposure to senior decision-makers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in management consulting and/or a VC-backed scale-up.
• Proven track record delivering complex initiatives in fast-moving environments.
• Strong analytical capabilities with data-driven decision making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

Why this role exists

Pennylane is one of Europe’s fastest-growing fintechs, building the financial operating system for SMBs and their accountants. Growth at our pace creates a constant stream of high-stakes, cross-functional initiatives that don’t sit neatly inside any one team such as entering new markets, redesigning pricing, launching e-invoicing ahead of regulation.

This role owns those initiatives. You’ll work directly with the VP Strategic Initiatives (and, through him, the executive committee) to take our most important initiatives from a blank page to a shipped outcome. It’s a rare seat: broad exposure to how a scale-up actually makes its biggest decisions, real ownership from day one, and the kind of scope that builds a strong foundation for an operating role over time.

What you’ll own

You’ll lead selected priority initiatives end-to-end. For each, that means:

• Framing the problem. Turn an ambiguous executive ambition into a structured plan: the hypothesis, the analysis that tests it, the milestones, and the definition of success.

• Driving the work. Coordinate the product, commercial, finance, and ops teams needed to deliver. You’re the person who makes sure it actually ships, on time and to the bar.

• Doing the analysis yourself. Build the models, pull the data, and pressure-test the numbers that decisions rest on. You won’t delegate the thinking.

• Keeping the ExCo close. Report progress, risks, and recommendations crisply and often. When something is off track, they hear it from you first, with a proposed path forward.

Some initiatives you’ll run start to finish. On others you’ll be the extra set of hands on whatever matters most that quarter. Both require someone who’s comfortable being handed a hard, undefined problem and trusted to figure it out.

Who we’re looking for

• 5–10 years in top-tier management consulting and/or a VC-backed scale-up, with a track record of owning complex projects to completion in a fast-moving environment.

• Exceptional analytical capabilities — you’re fluent with data and models, and you use them to sharpen decisions, not decorate them.

• Structured thinker and clear communicator who can make a complex trade-off legible to an executive audience in a page or a slide.

• Genuinely comfortable with ambiguity: strong judgment, a bias to action, and the maturity to prioritize hard.

• Fluent in French and English.
