Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end programs for a large, complex transformation in the energy sector. You will manage initiation, scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resource planning across matrixed teams, aligning financial, safety, and operational goals with stakeholders at all levels.

You will develop business cases, create detailed work plans, oversee budgets and contracts, forecast resources, and drive change management.

Qualifications

• PM certifications or training in project management best practices.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional projects and programs.
• Strong ability to manage scope, schedule, budget and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end project management, leadership, and coordination for multiple large, complex projects or a transformational project work stream
• Manage project initiation, approval, scope, schedule, cost, resource planning, and risk management
• Align financial, compliance, safety, customer, and operational goals across projects and the business or corporation
• Lead project teams to achieve financial, timing, operational, and change management metrics
• Ensure effective sourcing, management, and engagement of internal and external resources
• Identify project options, develop business cases, and secure required approvals
• Lead requirements gathering and planning while engaging key stakeholders
• Develop solution designs, define scope, identify dependencies, deliverables, success metrics, and milestone schedules
• Develop work plans, budgets, and cost/benefit analyses
• Manage detailed project plans, approved scope and schedules, status reporting, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, actuals tracking, RFPs, contracts, and corrective actions
• Forecast, schedule, and manage resources; manage contracts and associated payments/performance requirements
• Develop resource plans for matrixed teams and provide training and coaching to less experienced project team members
• Manage scope changes and identify risks, issues, mitigation strategies, and contingency plans
• Communicate project status across all levels of the organization and establish collaborative relationships through senior-leader level
• Work for Xcel Energy, a combined electricity and natural gas energy company serving electricity and natural gas customers across eight Western and Midwestern states
