Talentry is seeking a Strategic Project Engineering Manager to drive automation initiatives in the meat processing sector. You will guide cross-functional teams, translate concepts into concrete designs, and ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
2+ years in a leadership role with team development and management.
Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.
Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
Lay out and design experience.
Experience managing a multi-million dollar budget.
PM/Contract Administration and codes interpretation skills.
Proficient in AutoCAD; proficient with Excel and Word.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Knowledge of food processing/meat industry engineering.
Experience managing large multi-million dollar projects.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Develop preliminary designs and specifications for engineering and materials, and prepare cost estimates.
Conduct feasibility and economic studies to ensure viable, cost-effective designs.
Define design criteria, validate field work, and create as-built drawings.
Review projects for accuracy and guide vendors and contractors.
Coordinate schedules with plant personnel, vendors, and contractors to align with management.
Direct equipment vendors to plan layouts and ensure installation timelines.
Review consultant work and recommend necessary adjustments.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation and vendor contacts.
Lead pre-project studies to assess feasibility and alignment with goals.
Prepare RFP scope, evaluate proposals, and select best approach.
Submit progress reports to management by deadlines.
Oversee contract administration, bid package reviews, and compliance.
Create essential project documents including budgets, calculations, plans, and schedules.
Monitor installations to ensure budgets and specs are met; manage budget activities.
Continue advancing robotic and controls knowledge to deliver innovative solutions.
