Job summary

NRDC, headquartered in Washington, DC, seeks two undergraduate interns to support its Chief Program Office on strategic, programmatic, and operational initiatives. Interns will work closely with the Senior Executive Associate to the Chief Program Officer and gain exposure to executive leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Based onsite in Washington, DC, interns will contribute to events planning, briefing materials, and process improvements across NRDC’s program areas.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program.
• Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and May 2027 graduates are eligible to apply.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively, within a team.
• Project management and/or problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to NRDC’s mission, values, and DEI principles.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of major institutional events such as Climate Week NYC.
• Conduct research and prepare briefing materials for senior leadership.
• Assist with strategic planning and special projects.
• Develop resources that strengthen collaboration and operational efficiency across program teams.
• Coordinate cross-departmental meetings and maintain project trackers.
