Job summary

UNMAS Syria Programme in Damascus seeks a Programme Management Office Advisor to provide strategic and operational leadership for the country programme.

The role includes planning, work planning, resource mobilization, and performance management, acting as Officer-in-Charge of the Programme Section, coordinating with UN, government, donor and mine action stakeholders, and ensuring effective reporting and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with 7+ years of relevant international development experience.
• Experience partnering with UN agencies, governments, donors, or private sector entities.
• Proficiency in G-Suite and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development and review of the Country Programme Strategy and Workplan.
• Draft project documents and liaise with in-country and HQ stakeholders.
• Monitor trends to identify intervention areas and align with UN policies.
• Support resource mobilization by preparing proposals and assisting with funding agreements.
• Establish monitoring mechanisms for programme delivery and track results.
• Foster strategic relationships with stakeholders and participate in coordination meetings.
