Job summary

Irving Harris Foundation in Chicago seeks a Program Officer - Special Initiative to expand the Harris Professional Development Network (PDN) by developing programs, forging strategic partnerships, and advancing systems change with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

You will work closely with grantees, internal staff, and external partners to design and scale initiatives across multiple states and regions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and refine the PDN vision and strategies for growth and impact.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director, Senior Program Officer, and grantees to execute the PDN goals.
• Develop partnerships to broaden field influence and deepen grantees’ work.
• Coordinate annual convenings and other in-person meetings, including logistics.
