Job summary

Joby Advanced Development is seeking a Staff Program Manager to lead the J208 program, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and managing the IMS and budget performance. You will drive execution, forecast financials, and align schedules across hardware, software, flight test, and operations groups.

The role requires a strong background in complex program management, strategic decision making, and proven leadership to influence senior leadership and keep the program on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in program mgmt, project engineering, or technical operations (or Master’s with 6+ years, or PhD + 3+).
• Experience building and maintaining IMS and managing large-scale budgets in technical/aerospace environments.
• Deep experience across multiple technical domains with ability to resolve blockers and path constraints.
• Strong communication and leadership with track record of cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

• Direct, evaluate, and report on total program schedule performance and financial health, forecasting across engineering workstreams.
• Partner with engineering leads to map dependencies and resolve critical path drivers.
• Integrate with Finance to track and optimize total program cost performance.
• Develop and implement program management tools and frameworks to maintain momentum.
• Mentor teams to improve operational efficiency and coordinate across functions.
• Own and manage total program risk profiles and mitigation plans for leadership.
• Synthesize conclusions to influence program strategy and execution.
