Job summary

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is looking for a strategic analyst to lead efforts in planning, developing, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating assigned program areas across the Division or District.

You will identify and apply metrics in reporting and tracking, ensure accountability and clearly articulated business processes, and pursue efficiencies and automation wherever feasible. Strong communication and data analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and build constructive, effective relationships inside and outside the organization.
• Ability to design, analyze and implement policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ability to research, compile and organize statistical data into reports.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations, policies, and practices.
• Knowledge of essential tools for the assigned unit and program area.
• Skill in problem-solving and decision making.
• Skill in the use of computers and PC operations.

Responsibilities

• Research, compile and organize statistical data to explain discrepancies in processes.
• Provide consulting and customer services related to assigned program areas to management and staff.
• Perform duties, tasks, activities and/or projects as assigned.
• Support program needs related to intake, metrics, evaluation, tracking, and establishing business reports and practices.
• Prioritize and establish reporting protocols and processes to align data with goals.
