Job summary

M&M Quality Grinding is seeking an Operations Planner & Buyer to schedule workflow, procure raw materials, and coordinate with vendors to meet production deadlines. You will work across Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Maintenance/Automation, and Shipping/Receiving to optimize resources and support on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced machine shop environment in Hodgkins, IL.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning and/or purchasing in a machine shop or manufacturing environment with a high school diploma.
• Bachelor's degree in business, math, or related field preferred.
• Strong math, analytical, and computer skills required.
• Experience with ERP systems, production scheduling, and vendor coordination is essential.
• ISO or quality system familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Purchase raw materials and tooling for machining jobs.
• Plan and schedule production orders using Global Shop Solutions ERP.
• Review routers and estimating data for accuracy.
• Update work orders daily to reflect changes in ERP.
• Oversee inventory and adjust as needed for accuracy.
• Track vendor performance and schedule compliance.
