Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) in Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Planner to plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, and to create detailed work orders with required labor, tools, and materials.

You will coordinate maintenance activities with production and technicians, maintain equipment records and KPIs, ensure parts availability, analyze performance, and drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiency.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance planning, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability.
• Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Create detailed work orders with required labor, tools, and materials.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production, technicians, and supervisors.
• Maintain equipment records, maintenance history, and work orders.
• Ensure parts and materials are available by working with purchasing and inventory.
• Analyze equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements.
• Track and report maintenance KPIs (downtime, work orders, costs).
• Coordinate outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
• Perform other assigned duties.
