Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation in Clifton, NJ is seeking a Production Planner & Procurement Specialist to coordinate production plans, manage inventory, and procure raw materials to meet customer demand. The role interfaces with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations to develop schedules and ensure material availability for continuous plant operations.

The candidate will optimize stock levels, monitor inventory, and drive safe, cost-efficient operations at the Clifton plant,

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years in production planning, scheduling, procurement, and inventory management in an industrial environment.
Experience using ERP systems for production planning, purchasing, and inventory management.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and optimally use production capacity.
Purchase raw materials/chemicals to support production schedule while managing lead-times and storage space.
Collaborate with Operations to meet schedules and maintain stock levels.
Collaborate with Customer Service and Supply Chain to ensure product availability and delivery.
Establish safety stock levels for packaged products based on historical usage and demand.
Monitor slow-moving inventories and rework as needed.
Work with Warehouse Manager to maintain finished product stock and storage space.
Investigate alternate suppliers and raw material versions to improve productivity and safety.
Set shipping requirements with suppliers regarding equipment, labeling, and delivery times.
Represent the plant in quality and service issues involving raw materials and suppliers.
Enter raw material purchase orders into SAP S4, create process orders, generate batch sheets, and reconcile data.
Support Warehouse Manager and Production Department, maintain inventory levels, and assist with special projects and HSE&S responsibilities.
