Job summary

LECO in St. Joseph, MI is seeking a Product Manager to oversee the product management process for our instrument line, including hardware, software, accessories, and consumables.

You will define vision and strategy, manage lifecycle, and align with R&D, Sales, Service, Marketing, and Operations to meet customer needs and business goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop roadmaps, pricing, GTM plans, and promotional strategies, while mentoring Associate Product Managers

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of product management, sales, or marketing experience in laboratory equipment or analytical instruments.
• Ability to drive growth in mature or competitive markets.
• Strong cross-functional and cross-organizational collaboration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned products through the entire lifecycle—from concept to end-of-life.
• Conduct customer and market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
• Define product requirements, specifications, and positioning strategies.
• Develop and maintain product roadmaps, pricing models, go-to-market planning and promotional plans.
• Collaborate with R&D on cross-functional product development initiatives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Associate Product Managers.
• Prepare and maintain sales tools, training materials, and product documentation.
• Monitor product performance metrics including margins, ROI, and market trends.
• Support global sales teams with product training and customer engagement.
• Investigate and resolve product quality issues and customer complaints.
• Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer visits.
• Serve on technical committees to actively contribute, review and vote on industry standards.
