Job summary

Sunward Steel is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage vendor relationships, oversee 3P manufacturing and component sourcing, and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of quality parts. You will build strong supplier networks, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement across procurement processes.

The role requires independent judgment, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a focus on compliance and cost efficiency within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, supply chain, or purchasing in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple vendor relationships and concurrent purchase orders
• Strong negotiation and communications skills with vendors
• Experience with procurement and purchase order management systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and commercial conversations
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Vendor Relationship Management: primary contact for third-party manufacturers, component suppliers, and logistics partners in Sunward’s 3P network
• Procurement & Order Management: end-to-end procurement from requisition to delivery verification
• Quality & Compliance: ensure vendor certifications, insurance, and compliance documentation
• Process Development & Continuous Improvement: build and maintain procurement processes and metrics
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with engineering, drafting, project management, and sales to align vendor capacity with timelines
