Job summary

AeroVironment in California is seeking a Buyer II contractor to handle procurement of services, supplies and equipment while ensuring compliance with policies. You will review requisitions, issue RFQs/RFPs, and coordinate with manufacturing, planning and engineering to secure inventory cost-effectively and timely.

Responsibilities include negotiating with suppliers, developing sources, and maintaining supplier relationships to reduce costs and ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• AS/AA in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field required or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Understanding of FAR/DFAR procurement rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate terms and pricing for materials and services.
• Monitor subcontract cost, schedule and scope to manage complex procurements.
• Develop new supplier sources to maintain competitive pricing.
• Manage supplier relationships to reduce costs and ensure on-time delivery.
• Prepare RFQ/RFP packages and coordinate with finance on discrepancies.
