Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Buyer II to perform procurement duties for services, supplies and equipment, reviewing requisitions and coordinating with manufacturing, planning and engineering to acquire inventory cost-effectively.

You will process RFQ/RFPs, read drawings, negotiate terms, and collaborate with finance to resolve discrepancies, ensuring on-time delivery and quality across procurement activities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• AS/AA degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Understanding of FAR/DFAR procurement rules and regulations.
• Proficient with computerized MRP/ERP systems.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors cost, schedule and scope of subcontracts and negotiates terms and pricing.
• Develops new supplier sources to maintain competitiveness.
• Manages supplier relationships to reduce costs and ensure on-time delivery.
• Writes RFQ/RFP packages and processes RFQs with suppliers.
• Collaborates with finance to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Interprets drawings/specifications and applies manufacturing knowledge.
• Recommends action within defined procedures; handles additional duties as assigned.
