Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a Buyer to join the Motion Systems Group and Hydraulic Pump & Motor Division. You will manage commodities, ensure timely acquisitions, and maintain supplier lead times.

You will evaluate suppliers, negotiate price and terms, and support continuous improvement within a closely supervised environment. This on-site role emphasizes collaboration with planning and procurement teams in Michigan.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in Supply Chain management or relevant discipline.
• Experience or exposure to supply chain concepts and manufacturing.
• Analytical and technical skills to understand business practices and recommend automation opportunities.
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to understand electronic processing.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely acquisitions of product or service from known sources of supply.
• Track sequence and lead times of manufacturing operations using schedules.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers through research and supplier visits.
• Prepare RFQs, issue POs, and maintain accurate lead times with suppliers.
• Evaluate bids, negotiate price, delivery, quality and service; develop alternate suppliers.
• Resolve shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues.
