Job summary

The City of Fullerton is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day purchasing operations for city departments and ensure resources are procured efficiently. You will manage bids, contracts, and vendor relationships, supervise staff, and generate reports to support cost-effective decisions while maintaining compliance with policies and regulations.

This role requires strong negotiation skills, detail orientation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, purchasing, accounting, finance, or related field.
• Five years of responsible purchasing, administrative and/or analytical experience.
• CPPO certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the City’s purchasing operations.
• Manage bids, contracts, and vendor relationships.
• Supervise and train staff.
• Monitor purchasing systems, prepare reports, and support cost-effective decisions.
• Provide guidance to City departments on purchasing needs.
