MPI seeks a Procurement Specialist to support a multi-site industrial and petrochemical operation in Houston. You will drive safe, cost-effective procurement solutions, manage sourcing, and ensure alignment with negotiated terms.

The role emphasizes supplier performance, cost optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Finance. Experience with Procure-to-Pay systems and ERP platforms is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of procurement or Buyer experience in industrial, engineering, or operational environments.
• Proven experience negotiating commercial terms and managing supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, contract management, and procurement processes.
• Experience with Procure-to-Pay systems (Coupa preferred) and ERP platforms (SAP preferred).
• Ability to analyze supplier performance and drive cost savings initiatives.
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, operational setting.
• Warehouse or inventory experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing activities including RFQs, bid evaluations, and supplier selection.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and general terms and conditions for procurement agreements.
• Support and lead contract lifecycle activities including renewals, benchmarking, and performance tracking.
• Oversee procurement operations, ensuring purchase orders and requisitions align with agreed terms.
• Conduct vendor performance analysis, focusing on safety, service quality, and delivery metrics.
• Act as a liaison between procurement and cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, and Finance.
• Support procurement systems, including serving as SME for Procure-to-Pay platforms.
