Job summary

Procurement Specialist based in Cary, NC will identify key suppliers of raw materials, negotiate purchasing agreements, and ensure all materials meet specifications. Role interfaces with Planning, Manufacturing, and the Kingstree, SC plant to drive cost savings through standardization and vendor bundling.

The ideal candidate has strong negotiation skills, 5+ years in production planning/purchasing, and working knowledge of SAP.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning environments, purchasing raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, and supplies with demonstrated success in negotiating optimal pricing terms.
• Working knowledge of SAP with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• CPM or APICS certification, preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex sourcing projects.
• Good communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Utilize outstanding negotiation skills to create value add with regard to pricing, payment and incoterms for non-contracted raw materials.
• Executes purchase orders to meet all delivery and specification requirements.
• Solicits suppliers, requests bids, negotiates price, and implements arrangements for materials and services.
• Closely manage system data (pricing, lead times, dates) to ensure accuracy and monitor orders.
• Attend meetings and update planning and production teams on issues or concerns.
• Clear communication to the Planning and Production teams pertaining to delivery requirements to meet production schedules.
• Prepares & presents monthly dashboard & recommendation reports for supply chain.
• Manage vendors for quality, service, price, and on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, and packaging consultant to establish material specification sheet for all materials purchased.
• Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible
