Job summary

The Aspen Group (TAG) is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing for dental and medical practices and internal teams. You will manage requisitions, purchase orders, supplier negotiations, and ensure on-time delivery while driving process improvements across the procure-to-pay lifecycle.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, maintain vendor data, and provide regular updates to leadership. A Bachelor’s degree in business admin, accounting, or engineering and 3+ years of sourcing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or Engineering.
• Professional purchasing certification is desirable.
• 3+ years of related experience in supply chain management, procurement, or project management with an emphasis on purchasing or strategic sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, support, and execute the purchasing process for goods and services for the dental practices, medical practices, and internal support teams on a day-to-day basis.
• Provide support, expertise, and knowledge to the internal and external stakeholders across the enterprise, including approvals, substitutions, and inquiries.
• Lead and support ad hoc process improvement projects within the supply chain to drive efficiencies.
• Lead and support contract negotiations and RFPS with key suppliers to improve cost, quality, delivery, diversity, and safety in the supply base.
• Provide regular communication to leadership on projects, category performance, and initiatives.
• Own continuous improvement within areas of expertise and analyze internal processes.
• Analyze current processes and long-term impact to identify improvements.
• Manage purchasing lifecycle including purchase orders and on-time delivery.
• Oversee implementation of new processes such as punch-out, catalog, ERP improvements.
• Continuously review and update internal processes and procedures.
• Be a knowledge resource for team members and maintain supplier data.
• Coordinate projects and present data to peers and leadership.
