Job summary

Munson Healthcare seeks a skilled purchaser to determine commodity needs, source suppliers, and manage contracts across its northern Michigan network. You will coordinate with internal customers, assist with accounts payable, and ensure timely delivery and satisfaction.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting and at least 3 years in a business setting, preferably in purchasing, with strong communication, analytical, and coordination abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Business or Accounting; 3+ years in a business setting (purchasing preferred).
• Strong communication, analytical, coordination, and project management abilities.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Confers with customers/departments to determine commodity needs and delivery schedules.
• Develops specifications and identifies best sources for purchasing assigned commodities under contracts.
• Collaborates with other purchasing staff to expedite requirements and resolve issues.
• Ensures internal customer satisfaction and maintains timely order processing and follow-up.
• Works with accounts payable to solve purchasing and invoicing problems and reconcile statements.
• Participates in value analysis and product standardization to drive cost savings.
