Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) seeks an experienced Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing and category management for one of the nation's largest public transportation systems. You will develop sourcing strategies, oversee high-value procurements, negotiate contracts, and drive supplier performance across WMATA to ensure value and efficiency.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across the Authority, manage a procurement team, and lead continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Complete knowledge of the procurement cycle including source selection, price/ cost analysis, negotiation, award justification, vendor management.
• Deep understanding of category management and data-driven strategy development.
• Knowledge of government procurement principles, including contract law and cost/price analysis.
• Familiarity with Federal, State and local procurement regulations and WMATA policies.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements the sourcing strategy for designated categories to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Acts as category advisor with management to develop category plans and manage risks.
• Oversees competitive bidding, contract development, negotiations, and supplier performance.
• Improves internal processes and workflows to boost productivity and savings.
• Leads category teams and ensures compliance with procurement programs and SLAs.
