Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing and category management for a major public transportation network in the United States. You will develop sourcing strategies, manage high-value procurements, negotiate contracts, and drive supplier performance while aligning with WMATA’s mission and objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible procurement administration and management experience in large public programs.
• Certification from an accredited procurement program such as NCMA/UPPCC/NIGP/ISM or equivalent within two years of hire.

Responsabilités

• Develops and implements the sourcing strategy for designated categories to increase productivity and optimize Authority-wide spend.
• Provides category management plans and advisory support to senior management on risks, total cost of ownership, and KPIs.
• Oversees competitive bids, contract development, and negotiations, plus supplier relationship management.
• Optimizes internal processes, workflows, and interfaces to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Ensures supplier performance through SLAs, benchmarks, and contract management.
• Leads category teams and collaborates with programs to align with sourcing strategy.
