Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Procurement Lead and Commodity Manager for Semiconductor and Mechatronics components. You will independently manage strategic suppliers, lead supplier selection, and drive cost reductions while developing commodity strategies and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS/BS level degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Logistics, or related technical discipline
• 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Experience in contract negotiations and supplier selection/management
• Experience in purchasing technical commodities and best practices
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Responsibilities

• Independently responsible for strategic suppliers and leading supplier selection for new products
• Develop and update commodity strategy and negotiate contracts
• Provide strategic leadership to achieve best in class performance on cost, quality, agility, and technology
• Communicate strategy and risks to management and cross-functional teams
• Develop updates on market conditions and supplier performance
