Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Strategic Procurement Officer to manage a defined procurement work plan, identify savings opportunities, and report progress to stakeholders. The role involves interfacing with key stakeholders and ensuring clinical and technical advice informs decisions.

The post is a fixed-term 12-month engagement; secondments considered with line manager approval. Eligible applicants should have MCIPS/SVQ4 or equivalent and strong procurement knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree or MCIPS/SVQ4 (or equivalent) and/or SVQ4.
• Project management, negotiation and IT skills required.
• Knowledge of VAT and Public Procurement Legislation beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional guidance to end users to meet business needs and ensure procurement service aligns with required standards.
• Contribute to forming local, regional and national procurement strategies and report progress.
• Influence procurement policies and plans within budget to ensure value and compliance.
• Lead in price and quality monitoring, benchmarking and savings validation.
