Job summary

Wyman-Gordon, a premier manufacturer within Precision Castparts Corp., is seeking a Buyer to support operations in the Brighton, MI area. The role focuses on RFQ management, supplier negotiation, and cost-focused procurement of services and materials for manufacturing needs.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Occasional travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• A minimum 3-5 years of procurement / buyer experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proven track record of accountability and achievement.
• Thorough knowledge of purchasing procedures and practices.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong computer skills: MS Excel, Power Point, Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute RFQs to qualified suppliers
• Initiate and lead cost-saving initiatives
• Work with suppliers and analyze pricing to find cost effective solutions
• Purchase all services and supplies, including Factory Stores, through approved requisition and/or Factory Stores order report utilizing spot buy purchase orders and/or consignment and blanket purchase orders
• All goods/services are negotiated, processed and expedited in conjunction with operations requirements
• Reconcile A/P weekly to ensure accurate receipts
• Enter all Purchase Orders into system and maintain files with backup information
• Expedite and track orders as necessary
• Up to 10% travel to meet with suppliers
