Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Procurement Buyer/Planner in Tomball, TX to manage supplier relationships, optimize inventory, and ensure timely material flow for production. The role emphasizes compliance with procurement policies, cost reduction, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support product launches.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in procurement, strong negotiation and ERP experience, and proficient Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of related experience in procurement and planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in purchasing, procurement, and purchase order management.
• Hands-on experience with inventory management and supply chain planning.
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience using procurement or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Ability to manage invoicing processes and resolve invoice-related issues with stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; multi-project management.
• Analytical skills to monitor procurement metrics and inventory levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships following procurement strategies.
• Perform procurement and planning duties aligned with business objectives.
• Support product development and launch processes through effective procurement planning.
• Partner with project teams to support new customer initiatives and end-of-life material planning.
• Maintain end-to-end procurement processes including orders, invoicing, receipts, and inventory.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
• Implement procurement metrics and reports for management.
• Manage purchase orders within the purchasing system and resolve invoice issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve supply chain performance.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with regulations and internal policies.
