Job summary

AV in California (Petaluma) seeks a Buyer II to perform procurement of services, supplies and equipment, aligning with policies and FAR/DFAR where applicable. You will review requisitions, coordinate with manufacturing, planning and engineering to obtain inventory cost-effectively and timely.

Responsibilities include processing RFQs/RFPs, negotiating terms, developing new suppliers, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• AS/AA degree or equivalent required in business, finance or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Understanding of FAR/DFAR procurement rules and regulations.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate terms and pricing for subcontracts and services.
• Develop new supply sources to maintain competitiveness.
• Manage supplier relationships to reduce costs and ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate purchasing with manufacturing, planning and engineering.
• Read and interpret drawings/specifications and support procurement activities.
• Work with finance to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Perform procurement tasks per policies and procedures.
