Job summary

Molex in Texas is seeking a proactive Buyer to source, negotiate, and manage the acquisition of goods and services to support operations, control costs, and ensure on-time delivery.

You will join the Procurement & Supply Chain team, collaborate with Operations, Quality, Finance, and Engineering, and drive measurable cost savings through strategic supplier relationships and data-driven decisions. This role also emphasizes reporting and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of relevant procurement, purchasing, or sourcing experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret supplier proposals and regulatory guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to prepare reports for managers, clients, and vendors.
• Comfort with quantitative calculations (discounts, percentages) and practical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure high-quality goods and services while delivering cost savings.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to increase reliability and mitigate supply risk.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with production schedules, quality standards, and budgets.
• Analyze market data and supplier proposals to recommend purchasing strategies balancing cost, lead time, and quality.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Lead or contribute to procurement process improvements that increase efficiency and supplier performance.
