Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a public sector organization, is seeking a skilled Procurement Agent. This role is responsible for managing formal procurement activities, issuing competitive solicitations and purchase orders, and supporting contract execution in a timely, compliant, and cost-conscious manner. The Procurement Agent also works closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure bid accuracy, policy alignment, and strong supplier performance.
Job Duties
- Process formal procurement requisitions for goods and services above established thresholds
- Issue Invitations to Bid and Request for Quote solicitations for goods, services, and eligible construction-related purchases
- Lead procurement-related meetings, including pre-bid conferences, bid openings, award discussions, negotiations, and bidder debriefs
- Evaluate supplier quotes for pricing, accuracy, lead times, and compliance with specifications or scope of work
- Issue purchase orders and support the execution of awarded procurement activities
- Coordinate site visits, vendor communications, and internal follow-up related to active solicitations
- Maintain procurement records, vendor information, quote history, and supporting documentation for future sourcing activity
- Monitor contract performance and recommend corrective action, updates, or process improvements when needed
Skills & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a closely related field
- 5+ years of full-time experience in purchasing, procurement, or contract administration
- Experience processing formal procurement requisitions and competitive bid solicitations – Must know the RFQ and RFP processes deeply
- Knowledge of procurement practices, contract administration, and bid evaluation processes
- Knowledge of public procurement laws, regulations, and policy-driven purchasing environments
- Experience issuing purchase orders and managing procurement documentation
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and internet-based business systems
- Ability to prepare procurement summaries, documentation, and project-related reports
- Experience supporting procurements for goods, services, and construction-related purchases
- Experience leading bidder meetings, bid openings, negotiations, or supplier debrief sessions
- Ability to analyze supplier pricing, lead times, and specification compliance
- Experience maintaining vendor records, quote history, and procurement audit trails
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and the relationship between departmental funding and procurement activity
- Experience responding to records requests or supporting documentation retrieval processes
- Ability to review technical specifications, catalogs, trade resources, and supplier materials to source solutions
- Experience identifying cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance opportunities
