Job summary

UPMC Health Plan is seeking a Business Process Consultant II in the Business Performance Improvement department for a full-time hybrid role based around Pittsburgh, PA. The consultant will plan, design, and lead projects to improve processes and performance for the Insurances Services Division, communicating value, scope, and goals across departments.

The role requires expertise in Six Sigma, Lean, project management, data analysis, and change management, with PMP and Lean Green Belt

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• Master's degree preferred
• 5 years of experience in operations improvement or operations improvement consulting and 5 years in data-based process improvement or project management
• PMI's PMP Certification or completion of UPMC Health Plan Project Management Training within one year of hire
• Green Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma required within one year of hire; Agile training completion
• Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Excellent Project Management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Proficiency with MS Office including PowerPoint and Visio
• Experience in healthcare insurance preferred
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and lead consulting projects to realize significant process and performance improvement for the Insurances Services Division
• Define project value, scope, goals, methods, and plans to achieve targets
• Lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Develop business cases and perform cost/benefit analyses for future state recommendations
• Design and lead change management and communication strategies
• Manage project administration, meetings, documentation, and status reporting
• Oversee timely creation of reports, presentations, and related materials
• Ensure policies and procedures are revised as needed
• Mentor and coach staff; provide clear vision of project rationale and goals
• Apply Six Sigma, Lean, and organizational change management techniques
