Job summary

UTIMCO seeks a Private Equity Director to shape a portfolio of funds and direct investments, reporting to the Senior Managing Director of Private Equity Investments. The role focuses on direct investments, co-investments, and portfolio evaluation, requiring strong deal experience and leadership abilities.

The successful candidate will manage due diligence, negotiate terms, monitor risk, and prepare reports for the Investment Committee and Board, while mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of direct investment experience in finance, corporate development, or related fields.
• Strong private equity deal experience.
• Knowledge of legal structuring.
• Excellent communication across Investment team members and UTIMCO.
• Exceptional quantitative skills to evaluate fund and portfolio performance.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Bloomberg.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Collaborative, organized, adaptable, with a team-oriented attitude.
• Unquestioned honesty, integrity, and transparency.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Experience leading private equity fund underwriting.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
• MBA from a leading institution.

Responsibilities

• Support direct private equity investments, including co-investments and single-asset continuation vehicles.
• Monitor manager performance and risk; foster relationships with investment partners.
• Source and assess new opportunities; attend events and maintain the manager database.
• Lead due diligence for evaluating and underwriting direct investments with input from counsel.
• Lead negotiation of investment structuring and terms with counsel.
• Assist Senior Managing Director with asset allocation decisions and portfolio evaluation.
• Prepare standard and ad hoc reports for Investment Committee and Board.
• Assist and develop junior-level team members.
• Maintain knowledge of global capital markets and research networks.
• Represent UTIMCO with integrity and professionalism.
